I normally buy Expert instead of Superior, this time I bought Normal instead of Expert.

Noob day.

Just as proof that even long time players can do stupid crap:

Was down in the UW with a friend helping him cap a Black Widow. We finished Wrathful Spirits and I told him to go ahead and charm it. He didn't see where the spider had spawned, so I targeted it and pinged so he could see where it was forgetting (for whatever reason) that pinging it would cause me to attack.

Needless to say my Heroes discord'd the crap out of it and suddenly we were out one Spider.

Similar thing happened to me. Me and my friend both needed widows so we went to uw and did the vale quest, etc. The deal was I was going to cap it first and then we'd just go again and cap his. Instead, he decides to cap it for himself first. No big deal, we go again. So we do the entire quest again and I go to cap it. He goes afk RIGHT before I cap it and his heroes kill it while it's hostile. So I had to do it 3 times to get a spider I was supposed to get the first time.

dunno if this fits in the dumbest thing i've ever done, but certainly done something stupid

i used wiki to understand why it was so dumb

used a char which hadnt done anything in southern shiverpeaks, did desert missions, then walked from droks toward THK and then grotto for armor

fine there... right? (i said walk, not do missions)
couldnt reach THK (thunderhead keep) and why not? well, mursaat were there, and since henchies are only infused at grotto and THK outposts, in shiverpeaks, my heroes were the only ones who didnt get 30 health degen and 100dmg each second (on wiki when not infused) as they are infused all the time (just read wiki's "infusion" page)

you may think: thats not that bad.... well it is....

if you play GW for 64 months !!!

well, i think i never have done something worse than this... not when i no longer could call myself newbie o_O maybe dumbie now

So I can get my first set of obsidian armor, I've recently begun the laborious task of solo farming ectos in the UW with spirit spam on my ranger. I hopped on today, decided to get Greves the Overbearing out of the way first, and then went down there. I got 2 ectos right off the bat and was like, "Wow, good day!" But then I got my ass handed to me. Went down again -- and again, got my face smashed by the first or second group of aatxes. Since I'm working on GWAMM, I went ahead and tried candy corns and apples for my next few runs -- same result. I must have gone through this about 6 times before I started thinking, "Am I having an off day, or is the Underworld suddenly massively harder?" It was then that I noticed I was still in HM from doing that bounty.

At least those 2 initial ectos paid for all the UW scrolls I wasted.

I got greedy when trying to sell a Heavy Equipment pack. Someone was selling another Heavy Equipment Pack for less than what I had an offer on mine for in a different district, even though the offer I had on mine was a low offer I figured I'd sell mine quickly and buy the other one cheap and make a quick profit.

Turns out the person selling the cheaper Heavy Equipment pack advertised it wrong, it was a Large Equipment pack so I ended up selling my equipment pack seriously under-priced and was going to buy an overpriced large one. I was pissed because I lost a large chunk of the item's value after running Z Quests for 2 solid weeks after they were introduced on 8 toons each day in an attempt to sell the pack while they had the greatest value. Greed makes you dumb sometimes.

Then again, the time I spent on Z Coin farming would have returned 100 times more profit had I been ecto farming or clearing DoA, so farming for anything in GW by playing the game in a normal fun way comes as the second dumbest thing I've ever done.

I just did this in Rilohn refuge:
Started a new char a few days ago and arrived at this mission. Since I had bad heroes I figured I would ask for help from alliance, aiming for masters nm. (note i have all these titles on my main already and know the tips and tricks to do in most places)

I have a nice alliance and 2 nice people come to my aid. We start, with their heroes we rush through the start skipping the sides and not turning off pumps.
Almost before I act they have killed the drought. 2 droughtlings still alive, they must be killed to finish mission. Meanwhile I out of old habit press the key to nearest item and space, aiming to pick that white sword that dropped for me.
But the nearest item was the water pump inside the main basin with the Drought.
So I turned it off, thus failing masters after we had actually achieved it.

I just did the Worthy Deeds (Done Dirt Cheap) quest, the one where you kill the 3 bosses in Drakkar Lake. I went to get my reward afterward and discovered that I never took the quest in the first place.

Try to cap Restore Conditions and repeating the Abaddon's Mouth mission multiple times only to kill the boss and realise that I didn't bring a Signet of Capture during the 10 or so times I repeated the mission to make the boss spawn...

I got a code for the mini ceratadon from an online game mag. It was the first thing I dedicated in my HoM. Had no idea that it was a limited item.

Had various characters in Proph from when the game first came out. Got Factions and found it easier so salvaged everything from earlier characters in order to get a few gold together for my other chars. This included a few respectable items that I had no idea of the value.

Still do this, having no idea of items values. End up merching or dropping for storage space.

Got my first armbrace and was showing it off to a friend during a vanquish by dropping it for him to see. We came under attack and started fighting and then I ran off to the next group. Fortunately my good friend said, "hmm, you might want to pick that up and targetted it to remind me".

Setting off to do something in hard mode, getting 15-20 mins in, thinking "wow, I'm good!" and then realising I'm in normal mode.

Managing to do Divinity Coast HM with just H&H on the first go, all chosen saved. Then ran straight to the fountain at the end and didn't get the bonus. Classic "Doh!" moment. Just could not manage to do it again in HM for quite a few attempts. Was shouting at myself from sheer frustration in the end. Ranting and raving around the living room before giving up with a /ragequit.

Enjoying life in pre-searing. When I finally left my ranger was up to around lvl 14. Then went into the battle arena way too cocky. Had the attribute points spread all over the place. Even had some in smiting prayers with retribution on me. I was thinking, "I'm so high powered, I can afford to really go to town". We got hammered and I went down against lvl 8's no problem.

OK, I'll stop now, I've already said too much

Started playing the game in 2006, but then stopped cause it seemed difficult (was very noobie back then). Managed to get my friends to try it a year later, and the first thing I did was delete my old character. I didn't even login just to check him (warrior) out; just straight up deleted him and started a new warrior. Had I logged in I'd have found a birthday present waiting in the inventory, looked into why I got one in the first place and would have then decided to keep that character for his age.
Oh, and not filling up my character slots with characters when I first got the game to maximise birthday presents.
